The
Mermaid oil is an all-Norwegian product. The
fish is cod, called summer/winter cod in English,
and it comes from the Barents Sea and is fished
in the seas of Vesteraalen and Lofoten. It is
professionally handled in local receiving
centers and refined into Cod Liver Oil. It is
bottled nearby, and then shipped to the middle
part of Norway for distribution. Environmentally
this has several advantages. The raw materials
can be traced
back to the fishing boat it came
from, creating full visibility throughout
the value chain.
